James Hyland – A Lesson From Auschwitz

James Hyland – A Lesson From Auschwitz

Thursday 28 April 2022, 7:30pm

Award winning actor James Hyland commemorates Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah) with a powerful drama performed with Michael Shon

In 1941, Rudolf Höss, Commandant of the Nazi concentration camp known as Auschwitz, assembled his SS personnel in a secret meeting with the express purpose of introducing a new method for exterminating Europe’s Jews: Zyklon B, a deadly poison gas. Every soldier in attendance was sworn to secrecy, and no one questioned its usage. No one except a lone Jewish prisoner, forced to participate and humiliated throughout; the very prisoner upon which this “lesson” would be demonstrated.

Based upon real events, ‘A Lesson from Auschwitz’ explores how and why the Nazis did what they did, shedding light on the mentality of the perpetrators and the disturbing reality of life in a death camp.

Recommended for: Ages 14+

This is an immersive theatre play which involves direct audience address as well as scenes of violence which some audience members may find disturbing. The age recommendation is therefore classified as 14+.#

Proceeds will be donated to charity

A living death that only a vampire could understand. Or perhaps a special guest or two. Providing they can live long enough to survive their host’s unique hospitality and his deliberate attempts to drive them insane.

Based on the bone-chilling works of Bram Stoker, “Dracula’s Guest” takes you into the dark heart of Victorian horror to reveal the very meaning of terror and the consequences of collective evil and personal spite.

The Story of Doo-Wop

The Story of Doo-Wop

Friday 17 September 2021, 7:30PM

Join the U.K.s premier Doo-Wop quartet, The TestostaTones as they take you on a musical journey detailing the history of Doo-Wop.

During the early 1950s, quartets sung on street corners, in barbershops and churches in a style which became known as Doo-Wop, paving the way for rock ‘n’ roll. As the groups moved from the streets into recording studios, so the popularity of the genre grew.

Along with radio disc jockey and your host for the evening Chuck Anderson, The Testosta-Tones (who have sung for the Queen, live on Radio 2 and at some of the most iconic venues in the U.K.) will perform such popular songs as Blue Moon, Earth Angel, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, Runaround Sue, Teenager in Love and many others, presenting ‘The Story of Doo-Wop’.
