Come and join the regulars in Harry’s Bar for a night of cabaret/drama with a seasonal theme. The Three Xmas Spirits are rather depressed – having been ‘cancelled’ by the ‘woke’ culture for being too old fashioned. But Harry has a plan. If they can help Catherine Dickens, Caitlin Thomas and John Betjeman find new hope for the future – maybe they can get their mojo back.

With an eclectic mix of live music, poetry and humour – this will get your Christmas celebrations off to a good start.

The Band are raising money for STOW – Supporting Tanzanian Orphans and Widows which
is a registered charity founded by a group of people in Suffolk in 2005. Its aim is to relieve the poverty and advance the education of children who have been orphaned by AIDS and also other vulnerable children in Tanzania. It works through Tanzanian charities in Tanga.

MARITIME WEEKEND – Martin Newell & The Hosepipe Band

In addition to playing for ceilidhs, The Hosepipe Band is involved in an ongoing collaboration with North Essex poet Martin Newell. Band members have composed original music to accompany readings of three of Martin’s long poems: The Song of the Waterlily, Black Shuck, and The Green Children, all illustrated by artist James Dodds and published by Jardine Press. The Song of the Waterlily won a national prize in the year it was published.

The Unity Organ trio are a jazz ensemble who formed in 2018 and have played venues across London and Essex. They play a mixture of Jazz Standards, Latin Bossa Nova and Soulful Grooves. They share a common repertoire from songwriters such as Gershwin, Porter, Van Heusen and Kern as well as Jazz composers Corea, Henderson, Tyner and Davis.

The group comprises of: Alex Hearn (Guit.) Andrew Noble (Org.) and Michael Connolly (ds.)

Alex Hearn has a C.V including Martin Hathaway, Mick Hutton, Dan Banks, Trevor Taylor, Lance Ellington and Jocelyn Brown.

Andrew Noble has performed with Jim Mullen, Derek Nash and Peter King.

Michael Connolly has performed with Kenny Thomas, Laurence Cottle and Richard Cottle.
