Jasmine Watkiss & Zoё Wren two harmony-obsessed multi-instrumentalists formed Folk-Americana duo Roswell after an impromptu open mic night in Cambridgeshire in 2018. Within a few months, we had won Purbeck Rising 2018 and released our debut EP ‘Remedy’, which won Fatea’s EP of the Year 2019.

ROSEWOOD, Simon Haines, Val Woollard & Phil Lyons, have been performing folk and acoustic music for some years and have played at major UK folk festivals as well as on the club and arts centre circuits. They also play or have played in Bof! and The Hosepipe Band.

Rosewood sing and play traditional and contemporary songs and instrumentals, some of which they write themselves. Their unique features are the variety of their source material and the range of instruments they play.

She creates atmospheric landscapes with her honest songs of love, nature and life. She has played venues up and down the country and is currently about to release a new album ‘Fight The Good Fight’

Straddling the borders of art-folk, pop and world music with a touch of ska, EllY Tree, are EllY (aka Helen Woodbridge) songwriter on vocals, ukulele, banjo and guitar, percussionist extraordinaire Merlyn Bruce and the sublime bass of Andy Heasman who also adds backing vocals.

MISERY GUTZ aka Charlie Law plays songs to help when he’s in a bad mood. By writing songs exploring the parts of the mind we so often keep hidden, his music is like therapy for the modern age. Hailing from Suffolk, UK he plays music inspired by alt-rock influences from across the pond like Wilco and Phoebe Bridgers whilst drawing influence from British 60s/70s folk acts like Nick Drake and John Martyn.

MARITIME WEEKEND – Martin Newell & The Hosepipe Band

In addition to playing for ceilidhs, The Hosepipe Band is involved in an ongoing collaboration with North Essex poet Martin Newell. Band members have composed original music to accompany readings of three of Martin’s long poems: The Song of the Waterlily, Black Shuck, and The Green Children, all illustrated by artist James Dodds and published by Jardine Press. The Song of the Waterlily won a national prize in the year it was published.

Triangle Music are an acapella folk trio featuring Mim MacMahon, Sue Manley and Sophie Watson who like to tell a good story through their music. The three ladies have been singing together for a good many years and they compose their own material to perform in a quirky and humorous way.
…….I was mightily impressed not only by their chisel-sharp a cappella harmonies, but by the way that they act out the song, to frequent giggles and guffaws from their audience. They claim that the answer to every problem is beer. Show me a folkie who disagrees with that.”
