Esther Swift explores ritual, connection, isolation, and the natural world in her performance with pedal harp and voice. A prolific, boldly innovative harpist, composer and singer, Esther works across genres as diverse as classical chamber music and free improvisation, and writes for ensembles large and small. Having studied at Edinburgh’s St Mary’s Music School and the Royal Northern College of Music, as well as with harp pioneer Catriona McKay, she has received numerous prestigious commissions and featured in many international collaborations. She has travelled to Vietnam, New Zealand, Malaysia, Mongolia, and beyond with her music, and shared international music lead collaborations with musicians and other artists around the world. The East End of London has burned with the fires of rebellion for centuries. Most recently, from the Matchgirls of 1888 to the “Made in Dagenham” workers at Ford’s in Dagenham in 1968, its women have fought for change. Sara Wesker fought harder than most. Forty years after the Matchgirls and forty years before the Ford Workers, in 1928 Sara led a 12 week ground breaking strike in the garment industry. An ardent trade unionist and prominent Communist Party activist, Sara sang on the picket lines, galvanised a traditionally compliant workforce and in 1936 fought at the Battle of Cable Street. This is her story.

A Five piece Tribute Act to iconic master guitarist Jeff Beck.
The Band plays classic Beck tracks, from Jeff’s albums with the Yardbirds through his Fusion period all the way to his latest output.
The show also features guest vocalist O.J. Jennings who performs tracks from Beck’s collaborations with artists such as Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder and Paul Rodgers.
Al Dutton (Jeff Beck’s former personal manager) said ” I really enjoyed you
guys doing it your way for Jeff. I would come again.”
The show features tracks from many of his famous albums, including Wired and Blow by Blow. Other classic tracks played include Stratus, Freeway Jam, Big Block & Goodbye Pork Pie Hat. The musicians featured in the band have performed at many great venues, including O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, the Barbican concert Hall, The Stables Theatre, the Robin 2, Ronnie Scotts jazz club & Sidmouth jazz and Blues Festival.

and songs that wash up from the unpath’d waters to the undream’d shore and try to fashion something out of them, their poetic exchanges ebbing and flowing, overlapping and tangential, cohering and refracted. Poetry in flux, rippling with magic, mythology and fable.
