An inventive, irreverent, and highly accessible solo adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays… Armed with only a drum, a guitar, a knife and a chair, the tragic trajectory of Lear’s demise is presented to you from the point of view of his long suffering and ever-loyal fool. The bastard Edmund, haughty Goneril, poor deluded Gloucester, oily Oswald, sweet Cordelia, mad Tom – all the characters from this sad and sorry tale are brought to glorious life before your very eyes. Blindness, betrayal, delusion, deceit, love, loyalty, lust and greed – it’s all here in this fast paced, funny, poignant and ultimately heartbreaking production.

Steve Gifford is a highly regarded and prolific country blues and folk singer songwriter.
He recently moved to Ramsgate and is currently touring with a series of gigs along the South coast.
Previously this journeyman was regularly playing in America and Canada but his travels have been curtailed due to the lockdown.

He currently plays solo and brings his unique guitar picking style of acoustic

Thomas Wolsey – born in Ipswich from humble beginnings – rose to become Henry VIII’s right hand man and the most powerful force in England. But swept up in the storm of Reformation his career followed a dramatic course to a bitter end.
This play looks at his life through the eyes of George Cavendish of Glemsford, his servant and biographer during his glorious rise and his subsequent battle to survive the turbulence of King Henry’s determination to turn the world upside down in his pursuit of love and an heir.
With live music.

A ground-breaking one-man piece of comedic theatre that asks a simple question: Is it possible to please everyone, all of the time? And at what cost to your family and health? In this fast and frenetic comedy, award-winning writer/performer Paul Richards explores our need to please, and why it’s sometimes healthy to, every now and then, just sit in a shed and play Subbuteo by yourself, eating biscuits and listen to
Meat Loaf.
The show ran at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019 to critical acclaim. A run in the heart of London’s West End followed in early 2020, with the show also being performed at the Brighton Fringe, Reading Fringe, Barnstaple Theatrefest and Swindon Fringe the summer before. A full UK tour followed, before a triumphant return to Edinburgh in 2022.
The show is currently being developed into a feature film, directed by Jonathan Howard for Screenlooker Productions,

ROSEWOOD, Simon Haines, Val Woollard & Phil Lyons, have been performing folk and acoustic music for some years and have played at major UK folk festivals as well as on the club and arts centre circuits. They also play or have played in Bof! and The Hosepipe Band.

Rosewood sing and play traditional and contemporary songs and instrumentals, some of which they write themselves. Their unique features are the variety of their source material and the range of instruments they play.
