LUKE WRIGHT – performance poet extraordinaire brings his touring show to Two Sisters

“I believed that Fukayama line: the end of history. But History didn’t end, did it?”

Logan Dankworth, columnist and Twitter warrior, grew up romanticising the political turmoil of the 1980s. Now, as the EU Referendum looms he is determined to be in the fray of the biggest political battle for years. Meanwhile, Logan’s wife Megan wants to leave London to better raise their daughter. As tensions rise at home and across the nation, something is set to be lost forever.

The evening’s entertainment also includes an opening set of Luke’s poems in the first half.

Blake Morrison is perhaps best known for his memoirs And when did you last see your father? and Things my mother never told me, but he started his career as a poet and his collection Shingle Street is the starting point for this collaboration with The Hosepipe Band whose original music accompanies Blake’s reading.

Mike Garry is a former librarian whose gritty poetry has won the admiration far and wide and his collaboration with Joe Duddell and New Order in New Yorks Carnegie Hall in 2014 received five star reviews.

An evening of poetry in tribute to Frank Wood hosted by Felixstowe Poetry Cafe.

Florence Cox & Suzanne Hawkes will be ‘in conversation’ with their memories of Frank and will read some of his poetry.
There will be an open mic session for others to contribute poems about or inspired by Frank himself, or about the inspiration others have made in their lives.

Felixstowe Poetry Cafe Members and Suffolk Poetry Society Members can attend for free.
